Lesson 16: 3D Internal flow- Part 3 Copy

From this module, you will start working on practical mini projects and tutorials which will help you to get familiarized with complicated problems from different domains/fields. This lesson is about internal flow through valves and generating valve characteristics. This problem is rated as an industrial standard problem and you will have to spend more time performing several CFD simulations/cases to complete this lesson.

Assignment:
Perform CFD simulation of the Globe valve as discussed in the video and generate the valve characteristics for
delta P= 1 bar, 2 bar, and 5 bar while keeping a constant outlet pressure of 3 bar. Use the valve lift positions as 1 mm, 3 mm, 5 mm, 10mm and 20 mm
Fluid: Water
Also post-process the results either using fluent or CFD Post and generate Pressure contours, velocity contours, velocity vectors, streamlines etc and compare the results at different conditions and comment on the performance of the valve.
