Lesson 5: Reynold’s Transport theorem and Continuity Equation Copy

Welcome to the second module of this course. In this module we will try to learn the governing equations of fluid flow. CFD is a numerical technique to solves these governing equations using computers. So if you want to learn CFD, you should know these equations. The basic mathematics you revised in the first module will be helpful for you to understand and derive these equations now.
In this lesson we will learn Reynolds transport theorem and using this principle to derive Continuity Equation which is nothing but the principle of conservation of mass.

MATLAB/Octave practice assignment.

Plot the following multi-variable function using MATLAB or Octave
z= x e^{-x^{2}-y^{2}} and also plot its gradient.

Use contour and quiver plot for this task.
To submit the assignment, use the template shared in lesson0. In the report, include the plots and also put the code in the appendix. Convert the PPT to pdf and submit. [Upload these assignments as a single PDF file at the end of the second module]
