    Hallo everyone!

My name is Georgios Iosifidis and I am a mechanical engineer.
I would like to ask something regarding the geometry preparation on starccm.
How can we merge different bodies (their surfaces) , unite them and be sure that there is no intersection.

    Thanks in advance!

      Hi Georgios,

      Nice too meet you!

In lecture 4a we discuss geometry operations such as performing a Boolean unite two join different bodies together, as well as other Boolean operations such as subtract etc.

We then have a look at inspecting the output of the Boolean operation in the surface repair tool to see if the resulting part has any intersections by checking the surface tessellation and in lecture 4b we go into more detail about how you can use the surface repair tool diagnostics to check for pierced faces (i.e. intersections), free edges etc. and then how we can go about fixing them.

I hope that helps, let me know if there’s anything else!
