  • Query regarding Lesson 16 (internal flow) globe valve meshing

Posted by Aditya on October 10, 2023 at 4:39 pm

    Hi everyone,

I recently performed the simulation for the internal flow case for a globe valve however, I am not getting intuitive results. I was asked to maybe refine the mesh for the 1mm lift case with boi’s. Even after the introduction of the boi’s I was getting the same values for the disc lift and mass outlet flux. Then I checked the wall y +. I am getting the following values for the area-weighted average for y+ . I was also using 5 layers for the boundary layer.

    disc wall: 3.69

    main wal : 41.59

If anyone could suggest any ideas on how to fix or give some ideas on where my mistakes are, it would be really helpful.

I am attaching the images of my mesh as a reference

    Best regards,

    Aditya Kurup

It looks cool and is an excellent mesh.
