UDF, User defined function (ANSYS Fluent)

Course Details:

This course is tailored for individuals who already possess a solid understanding of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and are familiar in using ANSYS Fluent. It is specifically designed for those new to User-Defined Functions (UDFs), ANSYS Fluent’s powerful scripting capability that allows for the creation of customized features within the software. While prior programming experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory, as the first module comprehensively covers the fundamentals of the C programming language. Throughout the course, participants will progress from a beginner to an intermediate level in UDF development, gaining the confidence and skills needed to create their own UDFs for a variety of applications.

Key features

  • Learn at your pace format, you can enrol at any time and complete the course at your convenience.
  • This is effectively combination of two courses: C programming and UDF
  • The course starts from scratch of C programming to an advanced level in UDFs
  • Developed by an expert in the field of CFD with Ph.D. , PostDoc and years of experience in the industry as CFD Engineer.
  • The course contains 18 lessons with more than 20 hours of content along with quizzes and assignments
  • Dedicated forum and support system through support Engineers and instructors
  • One year access to the course from the date of enrolment.

  • Is this a live course or a learn-at-your-pace (pre-recorded) format?
No, this is not a live course. You can enroll at any time and watch the recordings. Our engineers provide live support through a forum for all your questions.
  • Is this an advanced course in CFD?
Yes. This is designed for users who are already familiar with CFD foundation and ANSYS Fluent courses on the platform.
  • Do I get a certificate?
Yes, once you complete all the lessons and upload all the corresponding assignments, the certificate will be issued after verification.
  • What if I don’t understand some portion or need to clarify some doubts?
There is a dedicated discussion forum for this course. Support Engineers and instructors will address your questions.
  • Should I know programming to learn this course?
It is good to have some programming basics. The basics of C is covered in the first module of this course.
  • Is there any prerequisite?
The knowledge of CFD foundation and ANSYS Fluent is important before you start UDFs. If you haven’t completed those courses, at least try to learn those courses in parallel before entering into UDFs.
  • Can I get any discount as a student?
If you are a university student or an existing student of Flowthermolab, you can write to support@flowthermolab.com to check for any offers or to enroll in multiple courses together with a bundle offer.
